This publication is the result of a journey we did in the summer 2011 with the aim of mapping the young scene of the independent galleries of The Czech Republic. We singled out 17 situations scattered around the country located in the most unusual and unexpected contexts: an abandoned petrol station, a cemetery, a puddle. We realized how in places where there are no institutional spaces dedicated to Contemporary Art, artists decide to react to this absence by taking possession of a space with the same ease with which they could get hold of an image or of an object.
